Dr. Juan Madera

Before joining the Hilton College faculty as an Assistant Professor, Juan Madera was an instructor at Rice University, where he taught Psychology courses. He also brings to his students applied experiences that include consulting for NASA. He received both his Master of Arts and PhD in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from Rice. In his research, he has examined how organizational hiring policies and interview structure influence interview outcomes and workforce diversity, as well as diversity training, and he has investigated gender differences in letters of recommendation and selection decisions for faculty positions. Dr. Madera is a recipient of a Ford Foundation Diversity Fellowship and received the Gardner Award for the best dissertation in Social Sciences at Rice University.
